About
Raffael Seyfried creates music on the threshold between acoustic and electronic sound, exploring how both worlds can merge into something new. His work spans from intimate solo pieces to full orchestral textures enhanced by contemporary production techniques, always favoring warmth, depth, and unexpected timbres. Rather than adhering to a fixed genre, he shapes evolving soundscapes in which structure and spontaneity coexist. In performance, Seyfried focuses on the live interplay between piano and modular synthesiser, letting the instruments continuously react to and transform one another, resulting in a multi-faceted, partly composed and partly improvised sonic experience.
After releasing two EPs, several singles and participating in the Tone Science compilation of the English label DiN, his first album "Lines Of Flight" was released in 2022.
He composed music for international film and television productions like „Etty“ (2025) “Eternal You” (2024), “The Lady With The Arrows” (2024), "The Dive" (2023) or “The Lost Souls Of Syria” (2022). Complementing his work for film he wrote for various projects such as the radio feature "Marslandung in Rio Tinto" (DLF 2018), the dance piece "Unbearable Darkness" (Tanzhaus Düsseldorf 2018) or the sound performance "Murmur et Hum" (2018).
Together with colleagues Jan Andrees and Gregor Keienburg he founded the orchestration company Ricochet where they orchestrated projects like „A House Of Dynamite“ (2025) „The Ballad Of A Small Player (2025), “Dune: Prophecy” (2024) or “Conclave” (2024).
